Dental Implant

What is a dental implant?

The implant is a titanium screw placed in the bone in place of the extracted root. The implant can be used as a support for different types of prostheses placed in the mouth (crowns, bridges and removable prostheses).

Since when has implant treatment been available?

Patients have been successfully treated with implants since the 1960s. Today, there are people who have had their dental implants for more than forty years.

When can we consider implants?

When one or more teeth are missing, implants are the only way to ensure their permanent replacement.

The best way to replace a single tooth is to place a crown on a single implant. The replacement of several teeth is done with multiple crowns or a bridge placed on several implants or an appliance attached by attachments to implants, in order to restore the smile and function.

The solution and the therapeutic choice between these different therapeutic possibilities depends on the case, the patient's preferences, the quality and quantity of bone present, as well as any functional problems.
